Egypt – collapse of a building: the assessment is 09 dead
The assessment of the collapse of a building in the province of Assiout, in the center of Egypt, is now nine dead.
According to a source from the emergency surveillance center quoted by Xinhua, eight of the victims are women, including a six -month -old infant, as well as an elderly man.
Research operations continue, the rescue teams continuing to search the rubble in search of possible survivors or new victims.
As a security measure, a protection perimeter has been set up around the site, and four neighboring buildings have been evacuated as a preventive basis.
The governor of Assiout, Hisham Abou al-Nasr, accompanied by local officials, personally supervises the rescue operations. He assured that any negligence or offense noted during the investigation will lead to prosecution against those responsible.
