Kaolack: Déthié Fall welcomes the progress of the Promovilles work

The Minister of Infrastructure, Déthié Fall, visited the sites of the Cities Modernization Program (Promovilles) in Kaolack this Thursday. He welcomed the progress of the work and announced the desire of the public authorities to extend this dynamic to other cities in the country.

Accompanied by the prefect of Kaolack, Mamadou Guèye, and municipal authorities, the minister visited several routes successively, including Tally Thioffack-Cimetière Médina Baye, Ndangane-N1-Route Médina Baye, Cœur de Ville-Port and Bongré-Inspection-Military Camp. On site, he discussed with the technical teams the progress of the works. “We are in Kaolack to assess the progress of the work carried out by Promovilles. Everyone knows how important this program is, but also the vision that the Head of State has to strengthen it and especially extend it to the neighborhoods,” declared Déthié Fall.

In Kaolack, the project involves 4,238 kilometers of cleaned and lit roads, at a cost of 2.8 billion CFA francs and an execution time of 16 months. In particular, it provides for 160 solar street lights, 1,782 meters of water line, 100 meters of draining pavement and 360 meters of gutters.
The minister also announced a program intended for 99 municipalities, covering nearly 302 kilometers of developments and rainwater drainage networks. “The first batch is practically completed,” he said, announcing the upcoming launch of the different phases.

Déthié Fall finally insisted on the need for better coordination between the different State services to provide coherent responses to the needs of the populations.
