President Patrice Talon went on Sunday February 2, 2025 to the site of the old PLM/Eldorado hotel in Akpakpa in a prelude to the launch of this space transformation into a modern seaside complex.

This ambitious project provides for the construction of a high -end hotel, tourist residences and the establishment of coastal protective infrastructure. At the heart of this initiative, a 609 -meter dike will be erected to strengthen and stabilize the coast, thus reducing maritime erosion that threatens this area. In addition, a marine lake will be set up in the Donaten district, bringing an ecological and aesthetic added value to the project.

The Beninese government intends to make PLM/Eldorado a leading tourist and economic pole, attracting both investors and local and international visitors. This ambition is part of a broader vision of modernization and revitalization of the Beninese tourism sector.

The project according to fraternity information also includes the modernization of the Akpakpa Dodomè district and the development of the East cornice, thus strengthening the overall attractiveness of the coast.

With this seaside complex, the government aims not only to restore the image of the coastal area, but also to stimulate the local economy by generating direct and indirect jobs. Once completed, this site could become a strong symbol of the tourist and economic renewal of Benin, like the major international seaside complexes.

This visit by Patrice Talon on the PLM/Eldorado site confirms the government’s desire to carry out this project, which could redefine the Beninese tourist landscape in the years to come.
