The International Islamic Relief Organization in partnership with Makeni Islamic Society donated over 2000 meat packages to various needy groups in Lusaka yesterday.
The donations were part of Muslims’ celebrabration of Eidul adha otherwise known as the feast of sacrifice.
The celebration dates back to the days of the Prophet Abraham when he attempted to sacrifice his son, Ismael.
To celebrate this day, able Muslims are encouraged to slaughter animals and share amongst the community.
The donations were handed out by
regional deputy director of international Islamic relief organization of southern Africa Moosa Mkhize and Makeni Islamic Society director of relief and welfare Huzaifah Jada.
