Crash of a military plane in Algeria: a deceased pilot, an open investigation

A military plane crashed on Wednesday near Aoulef, in the wilaya of Adrar, in the south of Algeria, leading to the death of a pilot, the Algerian Ministry of National Defense announced in a statement.

Following this accident, the Algerian army launched an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the drama.

According to local media, the incident occurred shortly after takeoff of a SU-30 from the reggane air base in Adrar. The second member of the crew was able to eject safely.
