YOG Dakar 2026: Youssou Ndour involved in promoting the Games in Paris
The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) are continuing their international promotion campaign. On the occasion of Youssou Ndour’s Grand Ball, planned for Bercy, in Paris, the official mascot of the Games, Ayo, will travel to carry the colors of this historic event for African sport.
Ayo’s presence on the Bercy stage will be an opportunity to highlight Dakar 2026 to the Parisian public and the Senegalese diaspora. Through this initiative, the organizers intend to take advantage of the scope of Youssou Ndour’s musical event to strengthen the visibility of the Games and generate interest around this international competition.
Scheduled for Dakar in 2026 from October 31 to November 13 between Dakar, Saly and Diamniadio, this event takes on a particular dimension since it will be the first edition of the Youth Olympic Games organized on the African continent. The association of music, culture and sport is thus part of a dynamic of international influence of Senegal and promotion of its Olympic event.
By taking over the Bercy stage, Ayo will help to raise awareness of Dakar 2026, while carrying a message of openness and celebration of youth through sport.
