PRESS STATEMENT ON ASIAN INSTITUTE OF DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS FOR RELEASE TO THE MEDIA ON AUGUST 14, 2017 (PRINT MEDIA)
THE Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) says Zambia stands out as one of the best democracies in the world.
AIDIA Chief Executive Officer Kc Sunil has since urged Zambia to strengthen ties with Nepal in attracting investments in the energy sector as most investors were interested in stability.
He also said Zambia should learn more about how mountain tourism was propelled in Nepal as it realised a lot of revenue from tourists who go for sightseeing of one of the world’s highest mountains, Mt. Everest.
Mr. Sunil said Zambia was set to grow just as Nepal, a country that had never been colonised but had since embraced democracy from a monarchy.
“AIDIA has noted with pleasure that Zambia which is a landlocked country just as Nepal is growing very fast,” he said.
The AIDIA Chief Executive Officer said this in New Delhi, India, when he called on Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga.
And Mrs. Kapijimpanga said the Zambian Mission in India would work with organizations such as AIDIA in attracting investments to Zambia in various sectors of the economy especially energy, tourism, health, education, information and communications technology.
“The mission here in India is happy to note that AIDIA, which has headquarters in Nepal, is opening up ideas on areas of collaboration with Nepal even before I present my credentials to that country,” she said.
The Zambian top envoy to India said Zambia was further looking forward to benefitting from Nepal’s agro food processing and medical education.
“Zambia remains committed to upholding the rule of law, democracy, human rights and protection of investment which are among the prerequisites for a favorable investment atmosphere,” she has emphasized.
This is contained in a statement made available by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.
