Trade Expo Indonesia 2026: The Senegalese private sector called upon to seize opportunities

Jakarta (Indonesia) hosts the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 from October 14 to 18, 2026. From Dakar, the Indonesian ambassador to Senegal is actively preparing for this meeting.

Ardian Wicaksono brought together, this Thursday, September 10, 2026, an audience of businessmen, entrepreneurs and business leaders around a preparatory meeting for this major show which brings together, each year, thousands of exhibitors and buyers from more than 90 countries around the world. The massive presence testifies to the growing interest of the Senegalese private sector in exploiting new markets, particularly in Indonesia.

Ardian Wicaksono invites Senegalese, Gambian and Sierra Leonean entrepreneurs to take part in Trade Expo Indonesia. The diplomat recalls that bilateral trade between Indonesia and Senegal has exceeded 220 million dollars, or approximately 123 billion FCFA in 2025. “This is stimulated by a growing demand for Indonesian agricultural products, palm oil, clothing and machinery,” explains Mr. Wicaksono. With the Trade Expo Indonesia, which constitutes a privileged platform for developing commercial partnerships, commercial exchanges between Senegal and Indonesia can experience an increase. “At TEI, you will find high-quality, reliable and competitively priced products in the manufacturing, agricultural, pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors, easily competing with traditional Western suppliers,” says the diplomat.

Speaking to Indonesian entrepreneurs who were live via Zoom, Ardian Wicaksono reminded them that Senegal is a gateway to West Africa. According to him, this region is no longer just the “market of tomorrow”, but “a prosperous, dynamic and fast-growing market, today”. Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone and all other countries accredited to the embassy in Dakar, including Mali, Cabo Verde, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and the Republic of Guinea, can provide Indonesian businessmen and investors with access to the African Continental Free Trade Area (Zlecaf), a market of more than 1.4 billion people. “Dakar is fully present on the ground to help you understand the local business landscape, connect you with verified buyers and reduce the risks associated with your expansion into the market.
