Speeches contrary to good morals against Victorine Ndèye: the trial of Désiré Pascal Maty postponed to October 2

The former Minister of Microfinance and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Victorine Anquediche Ndéye, shas withdrawn from its civil party status and was not before the bar of the Dakar flagrante delictos court this Friday, but public action continues against Désiré Pascal Maty. The latter, aged 34 and an agent in the ministry which was headed by Ms. Ndéye, is being prosecuted for alleged acts of speech contrary to morality, public insults, threats and defamation.

The case which came to trial for the first time was postponed to October 2 after the court followed the representative of the prosecution who opposed the request for provisional release made by the defense. The company representative noted that anyone could have filed a complaint given the nature of the comments made by the defendant on social networks.

Arrested by the Special Cybersecurity Division (Dsc), Désiré Pascal Maty, who was placed under arrest on September 23, made a publication considered discourteous towards the mayor of Niaguis. The latter filed a complaint after being alerted to the exit of Désiré Pascal Maty by relatives. During the investigation, the defendant claimed to have reacted following comments made by Ms. Ndéye.
