Madagascar: resignation of Henri Rabarijohn, governor of the central bank
The Governor of the Central Bank of Madagascar, Henri Rabarijohn, resigned from his post, for health reasons, according to a public press release, on Wednesday January 4, 2023.
Henri Rabarijohn is no longer at the head of the Central Bank of Madagascar. He submitted his letter of resignation which was accepted during the day of Wednesday January 4, 2023. “He has actually submitted his resignation for health reasons and plans to leave the country to undergo treatment abroad”declared a source close to Henri Rabarijohn cited by the Anadolu agency.
In the process, the Council of Ministers of January 4 appointed the successor of Henri Rabarijohn. This is Andrianarivelo Aivo Handriatiana, a former executive director of the IMF.
As a reminder, rumors have been suggesting since December a resignation of the governor of the central bank of Madagascar. But the information had been denied.
