Highly anticipated, Senegal’s list for the gala clash against Algeria has been released. The team’s star, Sadio Mané, is part of the group.
While it had communicated the day before a very reshuffled group for the 6th day of the CAN 2023 qualifiers against Rwanda, the Senegalese selection revealed this Friday its list of players selected for the friendly match against Algeria. The Lions of Téranga will indeed meet the Fennecs on September 12 at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Dakar.
In this list of 25 men, we notice the presence of two new faces: midfielder Lamine Camara (19 years old, Metz in L1), winner of CHAN and CAN U20, and central defender Abdoulaye Niakhate Ndiaye (21 years old , Troyes in L2), passed by Olympique Lyonnais and international U23.
The new residents of the Saudi championship (Saudi Pro League) are also selected. This is the case of Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sadio Mané, author of 4 goals this season with Al Nassr. Pape Gueye (OM) and Namplays Mendy are, however, not part of the group. The first is suspended and the second pays for his status as a free player.
