Gabon: 02 vice-presidents received by the Head of State to define the priorities of the mandate
Named as part of the establishment of the Fifth Republic, the vice-presidents of the Republic and the Government, Séraphin Moundounga and Alexandre Barreau-Chambrier, were received in audience this Monday, May 5 by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. These official meetings, broadcast by the national channel Gabon 24, mark the effective start of their mission.
The first to be received, Alexandre Barreau-Chambrier, newly appointed Vice-President of the Government, expressed his recognition to the Head of State. “We came to express our gratitude and listen to the priorities set by the president”said the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Transition.
Economist by training, former teacher and ex-framework of the IMF, he highlighted several priority projects: access to water and electricity, fight against young people, economic diversification and reinforcement of public finances. Figure of weight policy, it was also an active support of President Oligui Nguema within the alternation coalition 2023.
Séraphin Moundounga, vice-president of the Republic, was then received by the Head of State. The former minister praised the confidence granted to him and undertook to deserve it. “This is a challenge to remain loyal to the president and contribute to the success of this first mandate”he said to the microphone of Gabon 24.
From now on, the two men will have to implement the presidential roadmap, in compliance with the provisions of the new Constitution.
