Families still waiting for an outcome October 13, 2026
The Collective of title holders denounces the stagnation of the land file for the “Hangar Pèlerin” subdivision of Dakar-Yoff airport and announces a series of awareness-raising and mobilization actions. In a press release published on October 11, he called for concrete measures from the State as well as a precise timetable to end the impasse.
The issue of the “Hangar Pèlerin” housing estate at Dakar-Yoff airport remains without a definitive solution, to the great dismay of families who have invested their savings there in the hope of accessing property. In a press release published on October 11, the Collective of Securities Holders calls on the authorities and announces a series of actions intended to raise public awareness of the human, social and financial consequences of this blockage.
For several years, the people concerned have lived in uncertainty, between administrative procedures and commitments which are slow to materialize. Despite requests addressed to the authorities, no final decision has clarified their situation. For these title holders, the wait is prolonged at the cost of financial sacrifices and suspended family plans. The Collective says it welcomes the attention paid by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, to land governance and the protection of citizens’ rights.
The steps taken with the administration did not make it possible to resolve the matter. The Collective recalls having sent correspondence to the Minister of Finance and Budget on August 21, 2024 and June 23, 2025, as well as to the Head of State and the Director of Domains in June 2025.
The announcement made during the Council of Ministers on March 12, 2025, however, suggested a solution. The closure of the verification process of the Hangar Pèlerin site was then announced for the end of June 2025. But this deadline passed without a definitive solution being provided, fueling the disappointment of security holders.
In addition to these administrative procedures, the Collective highlights the distress of the households concerned. Its members are not land speculators, but citizens who have invested their savings, sometimes taken out loans or made significant sacrifices to acquire a plot of land. The lack of resolution weighs heavily on their daily lives. Faced with the impasse, the organization is planning a series of information and citizen mobilization actions.
