Lutte TV Awards 2026: Sa Thiès crowned best wrestler, Baye Ndiaye best promoter

The 3rd edition of the “Lutte Tv Awards”, organized last Saturday in Dakar by Lutte Tv and its partner Éric Favre, recognized the main players of the 2025-2026 season. Sa Thiès was thus elected best wrestler with striking, Computer, that of wrestling without striking, Petit Lô best hope, Modou Lô distinguished for his fair play and Baye Ndiaye again crowned best promoter.

The main components of the fight met on Saturday, September 19, at the Noom hotel in Dakar, for the third edition of the Lutte Tv Awards. A ceremony organized by Ibrahima Faye, known as “Beuz”, and her partner Éric Favre, which brought together several high-profile personalities from the arena.

In the category of best striking wrestler, Sa Thiès was distinguished by the voters. The resident of the Balla Gaye school, winner of Modou Lô de Rock Énergie, on April 5, 2026, succeeds Franc de Jambars, second in the ranking this year. The distinction, endowed with the title “Yékini”, former “King of the arenas”, rewards the good season of the cadet of Balla Gaye 2, who became “King of the arenas” following his success on the “Roc” of Parcelles assainies. Franc ranked second after his performance against Tapha Tine of Baol Mbollo, on February 15, 2026. Ada Fass of Fass-Benno completed the podium, after his victory over Eumeu Sène of the Tay Shinger stable, on April 19, 2026.

In the category of best non-strike wrestler, with the title “Reug Reug”, School Computer Boy Niang won. He succeeds Ngagne Sène, ranked second, ahead of Siny Sembène, known as “Siny Bargny”, third.

Modou Lô, fair play rewarded

Among the best hopefuls, Petit Lô de Rock Énergie, nephew of Modou Lô, was crowned. He succeeds Bébé Gouye Gui, winner of the previous edition. Bébé Oufly from Rufisque created a surprise by taking second place, ahead of Fils de Bm from the Bada Dione school.

Among the promoters, Baye Ndiaye remains master of the game. The boss of Albourakh Events was elected best promoter of wrestling with striking for the third time in a row. This year’s distinction is named after Gaston Mbengue. Mansour Bâ from Jambaar Productions ranked second again, ahead of Makane Mbengue from Gaston Productions.

For the prize for the most fair-play wrestler, Modou Lô was distinguished. The former “King of the arenas” is ahead of Lac de Guiers 2 from the Walo stable, second, and his teammate Alioune Sèye 2, third. The award is named after former wrestler Mor Fadam.

The category of best columnist, awarded the title of the late Birahim Ndiaye, former wrestler and columnist, also delivered its verdict. Abo Fiw created a sensation by dethroning Fadam 2, winner of the previous edition. The latter ranks second, ahead of Modou Anta “Sans Frontières” by Gaston Productions.

The organizers also made other distinctions. Baye Balla Mboup of Bantamba Tv was thus “designated” best wrestling reporter of the 2025-2026 season, while Lambalogue received the title of “Best influencer”. It should be noted that, for these last two distinctions, there was no real vote. Faced with complaints from Baye Balla Mboup and Lambalogue, each claiming to be best in their category, Ibrahima Faye, known as “Beuz”, explained that the organizers had “improvised” these distinctions in order to honor them, believing that they also deserved them.

Several leading figures in the fight honored the ceremony with their presence. Among them were Bira Sène, president of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation, Malick Ngom, former president of the National Wrestling Management Committee, Gris Bordeaux, president of the Association of Wrestlers, and Yakhya Diop, known as “Yékini”, former “King of the Arena”. The evening was also marked by musical entertainment provided by singer Sidy Diop. The guests were able to enjoy a moment of conviviality around dishes and grilled meats served on occasion.
