UFOA-A U17: Senegal corrects Sierra Leone (5-0) and advances to the semi-finals
The Lion Cubs struck a big blow this Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès. For its second outing in the UFOA-A U17 tournament, Senegal inflicted a real correction on Sierra Leone, winning 5-0 after an already convincing first success against Mauritania (4-0).
The young Senegalese were quick to make the talk. From the 15th minute, Souleymane Commissaire Faye opened the scoring. Cheikh Oumar Sy, decidedly untenable, doubled the lead in the 31st minute, before converting a penalty three minutes later. Score at the break: 3-0, and a double for the Castors FC striker, which confirms the good performance already achieved during the opening match of the tournament.
Sierra Leone tried to react after returning from the locker room, but nothing was done against the sparkling Cubs. In the 50th minute, Amadou Assane Seck, lined up in place of Kader Ndour, took advantage of a hazardous exit from the opposing goalkeeper to score the fourth goal, on a serve from Amsatou Diouf.
Amadou Bangoura then had the opportunity to shine in the 69th minute after a good run, but his shot flew over the cage. He made up for it at the end of the match by delivering the caviar which allowed Serigne Aliou Diop to close the scoring in the 81st minute, bringing the final score to 5-0.
With this second consecutive success, Senegal totals six points in two days and validates its qualification for the last four of the competition, confirming the status of favorite of the Cubs in this edition of the UFOA-A U17.
