CAN 2027 qualifiers: The Senegal-Mozambique meeting relocated to Maputo
The football match between Senegal and Mozambique, which was initially scheduled to be held in Dakar on September 25 at 3 p.m., will take place in Maputo.
In a press release, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) underlines “on the one hand, the Me Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio is not available at this time since it will host the opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. On the other hand, the lawn of the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium in Dakar is not, to date, in an optimal state to host an official meeting of this scale for the national A team of Senegal.
The FSF specifies that it has also contacted the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as well as the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) in the context of the relocation to Maputo of the match between Senegal and Mozambique.
