Politics: RIS Alwahda pleads for respect for the proper functioning of institutions
The Islamic Rally of Senegal (RIS Alwahda) encourages authorities of all sides to scrupulously respect the smooth running of institutions and the electoral calendar, the only guarantees of stability and national cohesion. This is what emerges from the press release of their national council held on August 16, 2026 in Mbour.
The Islamic Rally of Senegal (RIS Alwahda) reaffirms its determination to consolidate the dynamics of the movement and to work for the union of all the actors of Islam around a Senegal of peace, security and prosperity.
“RIS Alwahda encourages authorities on all sides to scrupulously respect the smooth running of institutions and the electoral calendar, the only guarantees of stability and national cohesion. It calls for the preservation of a peaceful social climate in the labor sector, through the pursuit of sincere and responsible social dialogue with trade union organizations,” argues RIS Alwahda.
Beyond that, RIS Alwahda also asks the government to ensure with the greatest vigilance the stability of the prices of essential foodstuffs, an essential condition for the well-being of populations and social peace.
As part of the preservation of social values in Senegal, RIS Alwahda reaffirms its constant commitment to the fight against homosexuality and moral depravity, scourges which threaten the foundations of Senegalese society.
Thus, he congratulates the authorities who have clarified and toughened the legislation on unnatural acts, thus marking significant progress in the preservation of our religious and social values. RIS Alwahda strongly encourages the judicial authorities not to give in to any pressure in the repression of this abomination, and urges them to firmly and constantly apply the law.
“At the African level, RIS Alwahda reaffirms the urgent need to strengthen regional integration and cooperation between the States and people of the continent. Faced with the persistence of security, economic, social and environmental challenges, it calls for increased African solidarity, based on the pooling of efforts and resources, in order to consolidate peace and stability and promote sustainable development,” we read in the text.
Internationally, RIS Alwahda denounces with the greatest firmness the silent massacre which continues against the Palestinian people in Gaza, under the complicit indifference of the international community. He calls on the latter to break its silence and act without delay for the immediate protection of civilian populations and an end to this carnage.
On this, RIS Alwahda welcomes the signing of the mutual defense agreement linking Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, a significant step forward towards strategic solidarity between Muslim nations. He encourages all Muslim countries to draw inspiration from this dynamic and to multiply this type of agreements, guarantees of a united, representative and strong Islam in the face of all the threats weighing on the Umma.
