Basket-AS Douanes: Doudou Ndoye has died

Senegalese basketball mourns one of its own. Doudou Ndoye, strong winger of AS Douanes, died this Thursday after a long struggle against the after-effects of a road accident. Hospitalized since the tragedy, he fought until the end before leaving us.

This accident occurred when the player and several of his friends were returning from a basketball tournament. A day of competition and passion then turned into tragedy. Two of his traveling companions, Mouhamed Diouf and Momar Merico, had already lost their lives there. With the disappearance of Doudou Ndoye, a third loss has hit the Senegalese basketball community.

Within AS Douanes, where he played as a strong winger, the emotion is immense. His disappearance leaves a big void in his club, with his teammates and all those who worked with him on the pitch. Reactions of sadness are increasing in the basketball world, which has lost three of its own in the same circumstances.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of Doudou Ndoye, to his loved ones, to AS Douanes and to all the friends of the three missing. May paradise be their eternal home.
