YOG Dakar 2026: Twelve evenings and shows to celebrate culture
The cultural program for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) has officially arrived. Its launch was chaired last Sunday in Keur Massar by the Minister of Culture, Creative Industries and Historical Heritage, Mame Coumba Diop.
In total, twelve evenings of shows are planned with the participation of several major figures of Senegalese music, according to ministry services.
Through this initiative, the authorities intend to place culture at the heart of this international sporting event. The ambition is in particular to facilitate people’s access to shows, to highlight local talents and to promote the richness of Senegalese artistic and cultural heritage.
Beyond sporting competitions, the YOG Dakar 2026 aims to be a showcase of national cultural expression and an opportunity to showcase Senegalese creation to an international public.
