Yeumbeul: four individuals prosecuted for sexual harassment and alleged transmission of HIV

The Yeumbeul Comico district police station has referred to the public prosecutor’s office four individuals prosecuted for several alleged acts, including criminal conspiracy, sexual harassment, unnatural acts, voluntary transmission of HIV and endangering the lives of others.

The case began on the night of August 29, 2026, around 12:29 a.m.. Returning from an intervention mission, elements of the Research Brigade took an individual suspected of sexual harassment to the police station.

According to the investigation, his arrest followed the complaint of a man who allegedly received advances of a sexual nature after the suspect had obtained his telephone number by presenting himself as a client interested in his services.

When heard about the facts, the suspect admitted the facts with which he was accused. His placement in police custody and the investigations carried out by the investigators then made it possible to identify several people with whom he would have been in contact.

The investigations also focused on the use of seized mobile phones. Investigators indicate that they have discovered, particularly on WhatsApp and Messenger, exchanges which they present as revealing intimate relationships between the people concerned. Furthermore, serological requisitions sent to the Keur Massar Health Center revealed that two of the accused are HIV positive.

At the end of the investigation, the four individuals were kept in police custody before being taken to the public prosecutor’s office. They are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, sexual harassment, unnatural acts, voluntary transmission of HIV and endangering the lives of others. These facts remain, at this stage, accusations and the accused benefit from the presumption of innocence until a possible court decision.
