“We will give everything for the Nation”, Steve Mounié before Mozambique-Benin

Like his teammates, Steve Mounié also spoke about the match against Mozambique this Saturday, in the CAN 2023 qualifier. And the Brest striker invited the Beninese sports public to support his ambassadors during this shock decisive.

“ We are optimistic, all the players are there, ready to go into battle. We will give everything for the nation on Saturday. The important thing is that we qualify, we have come a long way in this campaign, there, we have the possibility of going to Ivory Coast“, declared Steve Mounié in comments collected by Ange MANDJE.

And to add: “ I know that me and my partners will give everything. I hope the supporters will continue to support us as they did against Senegal. We need everyone’s strength to succeed in this qualification“.

Victory to qualify

Held in check by Senegal (1-1) during the previous day, the Cheetahs must snatch victory against the Mambas to validate their passport for the trip to Ivorian soil.

Second in the standings after its logical victory against Rwanda (2-0) last June, the Mozambican selection only needs a draw to be one of those called to this African mass. As a reminder, the match is scheduled for September 9, 2023 at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo at 3 p.m. GMT.
