Tourism & Football: after Arsenal and PSG, Rwanda joins Bayern Munich
In line with similar alliances already concluded with Arsenal in England and Paris Saint-Germain in France, Rwanda is taking yet another step to improve its visibility thanks to agreements with European football clubs. According to a press release from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), a government body responsible for promoting the country, the “Visit Rwanda” logo will now appear on the illuminated panels located around the grounds of the Allianz Arena (75,000 seats).
It is a collaboration with FC Bayern, signed for five years until 2028. The club, which won an eleventh consecutive national title last season and six-time winners of the C1, has also committed to creating a football academy in Rwanda. The aim is to offer young Rwandan talents the opportunity to develop their skills and promote the love of football.
The amount of the partnership is “contractually confidential”, RDB official Clare Akamanzi told AFP. ” We are delighted to partner with FC Bayern to support the development of football for boys and girls in Rwanda. We look forward to creating the FC Bayern Academy where their expert coaches can share their knowledge of the game with local coaches and players. “welcomed the Rwandan Minister of Sports, Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju, in the press release.
