It is today, Tuesday, that the Lionesses of Senegal meet the Aiglonnes of Carthage of Tunisia for the return match of the second round of the African qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Victorious in the first leg (1-0) in Radès, the Senegalese will try to confirm their advantage and qualify for the third round, at home.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. at the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium, where the Senegalese players will be able to count on the support of their public to take this new step towards the Olympic Games.
A little less than a week after their success on Tunisian soil, the players led by Abatalib Fall enter this second round with a short lead. An advantage that they will have to seriously defend against a North African selection determined to reverse the situation.
If the Senegalese have taken an option on qualification thanks to their away victory, they will nevertheless have to remain focused until the final whistle to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
In the first leg, Ndèye Awa Casset scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute, giving the Lionesses a precious victory and a considerable away advantage. This achievement allows the Senegalese to approach the return match in a favorable position, even if nothing is yet certain.
The Tunisians, forced to react after their defeat at home, should do everything possible to catch up and revive their chances of qualifying.
The challenge will be to preserve their advantage while seeking to create difficulties for their opponents. In front of their audience, the Lionesses will have the opportunity to confirm the result obtained in Radès and to continue their journey in these African qualifiers.
