Senegal: 3.2 billion FCFA in cash transfers for 16,037 agricultural households

The Agricultural Resilience Program (PRA) has entered its distribution phase. According to a press release, the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, Marie Angélique Mame Selbé Diouf, chaired the official launch of monetary transfers on Sunday, September 20.

The program aims to “facilitate access to essential inputs” for households of farmers, breeders and fishermen registered in the Single National Register (RNU), specifies the ministry.

For this 2026 edition, 16,037 agrosylvopastoral and fishing households benefit from the system. They come from the departments of Foundiougne, Guinguinéo, Kaffrine and Ziguinchor. Each household will receive “a direct allocation of 200,000 FCFA”, or a total investment of 3,207,400,000 FCFA. This total corresponds to the product of the number of households by the unit amount.

Two beneficiaries received their transfer during the event: Aminata Sarr, processor of fish products in Foundiougne, and Mamadou Fané, farmer in the commune of Saloum Diané.

The ministry denounces “false video montages”

The press release devotes part to the digital controversy. The ministry “notes with regret” that visual content of the ceremony is subject to manipulation on social networks, “through misleading video montages and biased comments”. He invites citizens to be vigilant and “reserves his right to follow up” on these acts of disinformation.

The ministry recalls that the program is part of the vision of President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, defined in the National Transformation Agenda “Senegal 2050”. This agenda aims, according to him, to build “sustainable food sovereignty” around agriculture, fishing and livestock farming.
