The IT company Surf Shark recently published the 2023 ranking of countries with the best digital quality of life. In Africa, South Africa is at the top of this ranking, followed by Morocco and Kenya.

The 2023 ranking of African countries with the best quality of digital life is now available. This study, which is based on several criteria such as availability and quality of connection, quality of infrastructure and electronic security, offers a fascinating overview of the digital situation in Africa.

Unsurprisingly, South Africa rose to the top of this ranking, leading the African continent in terms of digital quality of life. Globally, South Africa ranks an honorable 72nd, demonstrating the robustness of its digital infrastructure and secure online environment. Morocco stood out in this ranking, occupying second position at the continental level and 75th place at the world level. Kenya then comes in third position and 76th globally.

Mauritius is in fourth place, closely followed by Tunisia in fifth place and Egypt in sixth place. These countries stand out for their commitment to improving the digital quality of life of their citizens. Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, also placed strongly in the top 10, occupying seventh place continentally and 62nd place globally when it comes to connection quality. The African top 10 for digital quality of life also includes Algeria in eighth place, and Ghana in ninth place. Benin, often less mentioned in discussions about technology in Africa, deserves a place of honor in this ranking by ranking tenth in Africa.

Surf Shark’s ranking was based on several criteria, including network accessibility, connection quality, electronic infrastructure, electronic security, reliability of online services and adaptability to artificial intelligence.
