MAC in Senegal: the Forum du justiciable magnifies the installation of toilets adapted to people with disabilities

The Forum du Justiciable welcomes the installation of 50 English chairs in the various remand and correction centers (Mac) across the country in order to have toilets adapted to people with disabilities. In a press release made public on Tuesday, he found this act imbued with humanity and expressed his deep gratitude to the Minister of Justice for his pragmatism and efficiency.

During the hearing held on Friday August 14, 2026 with the Minister of Justice, Me Moussa Sarr, the Forum du Justiciable reported the absence of toilets adapted for people with disabilities at the Rufisque remand and correctional center. An English chair was then installed there.

Subsequently, the Minister of Justice extended this measure to all penitentiary establishments in Senegal which did not have them, by installing 50 English chairs distributed across the various remand and correctional centers in the country. These include the Macs of Kaolack and the Koutal penal camp which benefited from five chairs each.

For the Macs of Mbour, Saint-Louis, Kaffrine, Foundiougne, at least three chairs were recently installed there. In the Macs of Thiès, Diourbel, Matam, Tamba, Kédougou, Louga, Podor, Gossas and Nioro, the authorities have installed two chairs to better support people with disabilities.

And for the Macs of Rufisque, Hann, Sébikotane, Bambey, Dagana, Kébémer, Linguère, Bakel, they benefited from a chair.

“This initiative aims to provide relief to people with reduced mobility, overweight people, those suffering from joint disorders as well as patients experiencing difficulty using Turkish toilets,” underlines the Forum du Justiciable.
