Keur Gou Mack cemeteries in Diourbel: a bread delivery man found dead by hanging

Residents of the Medinatoul district of Diourbel woke up in dismay this Tuesday after the tragic discovery of a suicide by hanging of a 45-year-old man. The tragedy took place inside the Keur Gou Mack cemetery.

The deceased was discovered by Muslim worshipers who were doing their daily ziara. They then informed the members of the Dahira Khidmatoul Khadim (responsible for managing the cemetery), the imam ratib of the Keur Gou Mack mosque (Tafsir Diop), the central police station of Diourbel and the 22nd fire and rescue company of Diourbel.

The police and firefighters removed the body which they placed in the morgue of the Heinrich Lubcké regional hospital in Diourbel. The victim’s name is Mbaye Nguirane, originally from Touba. He lived in the sub-district of Keur Serigne Mbaye Sarr and worked as a bread deliveryman at a local bakery. Firefighters have opened an investigation to determine the causes of this suicide by hanging.
