In Lourdes, Senegalese pilgrims at the foot of the Virgin Mary August 29, 2026
The pilgrims of justice and peace are in Lourdes, at the foot of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, after the stages of Rome and Assisi. In the Marian city, located in Lourdes, France, pilgrims of justice and peace bring their supplications to the foot of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who appeared to Bernadette Soubirous 18 times in 1858, in a grotto.
The pilgrims of justice and peace, in prayer, joined the sacred grotto, rosary in hand, to pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary. A source of water has sprung from the cave and millions of pilgrims come to recharge their batteries to obtain the grace of healing.
Above this grotto and at the indication of the Blessed Virgin Mary, during her apparitions to Bernadette, stands the chapel of the Immaculate Conception, where pilgrims celebrated mass.
During this celebration, Father Serge Anick Nyafouna, in his homily, called on Senegalese pilgrims to be instruments of God, like the Virgin Mary.
“Like the Blessed Virgin Mary, God calls us all to entrust us with a mission, a responsibility: it is that of announcing the Gospel to humanity by being instruments of truth, justice, charity, mercy and peace,” said Father Serge.
He added: “In a crazy and unhinged world where inequity beats harder than justice, where the law of the strongest seems to become the rule, where falsehood is applauded and the truth rejected when it is too disturbing, where money seems more secure than human life, where political politics haunts the minds of men and thus slows down the evolution and development of all, where war contributes to the massive disappearance of towns and villages, where insecurity causes citizens to be displaced. from a favorite place to an arid place without water, let us be like Mary, peacemakers. »
The pilgrims of justice and peace, like the thousands of pilgrims present in Lourdes, drank from the miraculous spring.
