Grand-Yoff: a police operation uncovers prostitution activities
The Grand-Yoff district police station arrested ten people on September 6, 2026 as part of an operation carried out in a drinking establishment where illicit activities were suspected.
The operation, launched around 9:30 p.m. after cross-checks, allowed the police to note the presence of customers consuming alcohol on the ground floor and to discover, upstairs, seven rooms where women were engaged in prostitution.
The checks also revealed that several women, most of them foreign nationals, were in an irregular situation and did not appear in the health and social file of the Ministry of Health. Hundreds of condoms and tissues were also seized.
The managers are also suspected of having misappropriated the purpose of the administrative authorization granted to the establishment.
At the end of the operation, the ten suspects were placed in police custody. They are being prosecuted in particular for violation of the operating conditions of a drinking establishment, pimping, incitement to debauchery, failure to register in the health and social file, illegal stay and endangering the lives of others.
