Electricity supply: A drop of around 30% by 2030

The government of Senegal aims for a 30% reduction in the cost of electricity by 2030, declared Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô, during his General Policy Declaration.

According to statistics presented during its General Policy Declaration, 6,471 localities still remain to be served across the country. Their electrification is now among the government’s priorities, he noted.

The Prime Minister also announced the continued development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and domestic gas. The idea is to gradually reduce energy production costs and, in turn, those borne by users.
