CDM 2026 (Q): Botswana crushes Somalia
Botswana signed its second victory in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after its precious success against Somalia (3-1) this Monday, during the 4th day.
Botswana took a new step this Monday in its race for the qualification of the 2026 World Cup. Zebras had Somalia this afternoon. Against the ocean stars in a meeting with the fourth day of the playoffs, the Botswana won on the score of 3-1.
Summary of the meeting
The impressive pressing exerted at the start of the game by the zebras very early on. From the 10th minute, Alford Vilaphi, one of the strong choices of Botswan coach, allowed Sesinyi Thaang to open the scoring. Despite some attempts to reply the premises after the quarter of an hour of play, none led, and it was on this 0-1 score that the two teams were returned to the locker room.

The Somalians took advantage of the euphoria of visitors, however, to reduce the scoring thanks to Sakariya Hassan in the 74th minute.
Botswana relaunches
Thanks to this victory, the zebras now have 6 points and rank fourth in group G. Botswana is thus revived with two victories and two defeats in four games. On the other hand, Somalia remains in the last place of the group with 0 points, having not recorded any victory since the start of this campaign.
