CAN 2025 (Q): Togo and Equatorial Guinea back to back
Togo was traveling this Monday in Equatorial Guinea, as part of the second day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. And on arrival, the two teams left on a parity score (2-2).
Second outing without victory for Togo at the start of the campaign, counting for the CAN 2025 qualifiers. Already held in check by Liberia (1-1), last Friday, the Highlights also shared the points during their trip to Equatorial Guinea, this Monday. Against Nzalang Nacional this afternoon in Malabo, the men of coach Daré Nibombé finished the game on a parity score (2-2).
Poorly embarked, the Togolese were picked cold by the host team, which opened the scoring in the 17th minute, on a realization of Luis Asué. Shaken, visitors will however return to the brand before the break, thanks to Roger Aholou who marked a whim.
Again preceded by the Nzalang Nacional which took over the advantage in the last quarter of an hour through Jannick Byula (75th), the Togolese will reach the last seconds of the end of the meeting to be uprooted the draw. The house scorer, Fodoh Laba, will save his own on a head placed in the 94th minute. Final score: 2-2.
A result that does not help the Togolese, housed in a pool E, quite raised. The hawks will have to react during the third day, against Algeria.
