CAN 2023: with Cameroon and without Benin, the 24 qualified for the final phase (list)

The 24 teams qualified for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Ivory Coast are now known. And there are no major surprises, with the great African football nations all present among the lucky ones.

Tuesday evening, during the crucial 6th day of the qualifiers, Cameroon validated its ticket for CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast. The Indomitable Lions, who had their backs to the wall, responded impressively in front of their home crowd by winning 3-0 against Burundi.

The victory propelled Cameroon to the top of Group C, alongside Namibia, who finished second in the same group. They join the 22 other teams who will prepare for the exciting meeting in Ivory Coast in January. Among these teams, we find nations such as Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, as well as small thumbs like Gambia and Mozambique. Unfortunately, Benin were eliminated after their disappointment in Maputo last weekend.

As a reminder, the CAN will begin on January 13 and will be held until February 11, 2024 in Ivory Coast. Football fans are impatiently awaiting the draw, which will take place on October 12, to find out the groups and posters for this prestigious competition.
