Cameroon: André Onana’s enigmatic message after his summons
In a post on his Instagram account, André Onana reacted to his summons to the Indomitable Lions for the next gathering in September. And the Cameroonian goalkeeper sent an enigmatic message.
André Onana should also play the sixth day of the CAN 2023 qualifiers, the final phase of which is scheduled for January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire. The Manchester United goalkeeper is called up with the Indomitable Lions for next September’s rally, where Cameroon will face Burundi in a decisive game. A summons justified by the national coach Rigobert Song, in a post-match press conference.
“There has never been a problem with André Onana. I will have said since that everything depended on him. He knew what he had to do. If he’s on the list, that means he did the right thing. Today, we are satisfied with his return. He is currently one of the best goalkeepers in the world and I congratulate him for that.”said the former captain of the Cameroonian team to the press.

But a few hours after the media release of Rigobert Song, André Onana posted an enigmatic message on his Instagram account. A message coded with an African proverb: “ The lie gives flowers, but no fruit», wrote the Mancunian doorman on his story on Instagram. Obviously, it does not smell the rose between Onana and coach Song.
Second in group C with 4 points, Cameroon is neck and neck with Burundi, 4 units also on the clock. A draw would allow the Indomitable Lions to validate their ticket for the trip to Ivorian soil.
