Astou Pierre Ndiaye affair: Alioune Badara Gaye soon handed over to Senegalese justice November 2, 2026
The flight of Alioune Badara Gaye, wanted in connection with the Astou Pierre Ndiaye affair, has ended in Mauritania.
Arrested on Friday following collaboration between the Senegalese and Mauritanian police services, the suspect should soon be transferred to Senegal to be presented to the judicial authorities.
According to information reported by Libération, his arrest took place after localization work carried out by the National Central Bureau (BCN) of Interpol, reporting to the Senegalese Judicial Police Directorate. This operation followed a request from the Dieuppeul police station, responsible for the case.
The Senegalese authorities, informed of his arrest, are now working to organize his return to the national territory. The objective is to place him at the disposal of justice so that he can answer for the facts with which he is accused.
Alioune Badara Gaye is suspected of being involved in the acid attack on his former partner, Astou Pierre Ndiaye. The events occurred at the latter’s workplace, at Liberté 4. The victim was seriously burned after receiving the corrosive product. Several of his colleagues, present at the time of the attack, were also affected.
Hospitalized at Fann hospital in Dakar, Astou Pierre Ndiaye finally succumbed to his injuries on October 1, after several weeks of struggle. According to the elements reported by the newspaper, this attack occurred in a context of a romantic breakup that her former companion would have experienced badly.
After several months of research and a run which took him out of Senegal, the arrest of the suspect in Mauritania thus opens a new legal sequence in this case. His transfer to the Senegalese authorities is now expected.
