The final of the “Fiftieth Anniversary Trophy” marks the launch of commemorative activities for the fiftieth anniversary of the Louga region. This Wednesday, it opposed ASC Diamano to that of Artillery at the Alboury Ndiaye stadium in Louga. At the end of the match, ASC Diamano lost with a score of one goal to zero.
Godmother of the final, the governor of the Louga region, Ndèye Nguénar Mbodj, first thanked the organizers for having chosen her modest person. “This activity marking the start of the festivities allowed us to experience moments of solidarity and cohesion with the youth of Lougat,” declared the administrative authority.
According to her, sport constitutes a real lever for social cohesion.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the head of the regional executive paid tribute to emblematic figures of Louga, in particular to the former presidents of the Republic of Senegal, Me Abdoulaye Wade and Abdou Diouf, who particularly marked the history of the country. According to Ndèye Nguénar Mbodj, these “sons of Louga” played an important role in the development of Senegal. “I invite young people to take an example from these great personalities who raised the colors of their region, in this case Louga,” she said.
Returning to the program of festivities marking this fiftieth anniversary, Ndèye Nguénar Mbodj announced that activities will also be organized in other departments of the region. “Festivities will be organized in the departments of Linguère and Kébémer,” she said, specifying that a trip to the department of Linguère is planned soon in order to examine the arrangements for carrying out an activity.
