LDC CAF: Teungueth FC defeated, Malick Daf denounces the lack of competitiveness of the Senegalese championship
Teungueth FC got off to a bad start to its African season. The Rufisquois lost 0-2 at home this Sunday, against Colombe FC, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. For coach Malick Daf, it is the fault of the lack of competitiveness of the Senegalese championship.
Teungueth FC already has its back against the wall. The Rufisquois club will have to achieve an exploit to continue the adventure in the African Champions League. Defeated by Colombe FC, Teungueth played this match even though he had not yet started his championship. His coach, Malick Daf, denounced this state of affairs in a post-match press conference. “We cannot shine with a championship that lacks competition. Do you want us to shine with friendly matches? In these encounters, there is not the same adversity. Despite everything, we remain silent and we work. How long has it been since the championship started before the elimination phases of African competitions? This poses a problem. There should be no postponement of the championship, especially since the schedule is already very tight. When a team has to play in an African competition, depriving it of official matches does not help it. But we are forced to adapt,” assures the technician.
Malick Daf continues: “We would have preferred to play a few championship matches before facing this Cameroonian team. We were champions, but it has been four months since we played in official competition. We play friendly matches against Wally Daan and Port, but it’s not the same level of adversity. »
