Half a century in the service of National Defense October 16, 2026

Army Transmissions celebrated their fiftieth anniversary this Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Camp Colonel Mamadou Dieng, in Yeumbeul. Placed under the theme “A half century of progress and commitment to Communications in the service of National Defense”, the ceremony was chaired by Vice-Admiral Oumar Wade, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces.

This celebration brought together the large family of Signals as well as representatives of other arms and services, in a spirit of brotherhood, sharing and communion.

At the end of the military parade, Vice Admiral Oumar Wade unveiled the commemorative plaque marking this fiftieth anniversary.

The festivities will continue this Friday, October 16, 2026 with the organization of a conference devoted to cyberdefense. This strategic meeting will make it possible to address the technological and security challenges that the Armed Forces will face in the future.
