National Assembly: three plenaries planned between September 29 and October 2, 2026

The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, signed three summons, all dated September 25, 2026 in Dakar, setting the schedule for the next plenary sessions of deputies of the 15th legislature.

The first session, scheduled for this Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 10 a.m., will be devoted to the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security, with the examination of bill n°21/2026 amending the 2016 law relating to the ECOWAS biometric identity card. At 3 p.m., deputies will consider proposed law no. 37/2026 amending the 2019 Petroleum Code.

Wednesday September 30: health in prisons under debate

A second plenary will be held the next day, September 30, at 3 p.m., with proposed law no. 39/2026 relating to health in prisons on the agenda.

Friday October 2: closure of the extraordinary session, Sofcare file examined

Finally, the deputies will meet on Friday October 2 at 10 a.m. to examine the report of the parliamentary fact-finding mission relating to the marketing of Sofcare brand products, before closing the third extraordinary session of the year 2026 of the National Assembly.

This tight schedule illustrates the intensity of the legislative agenda as the end of the extraordinary session approaches, between security texts, oil sector reform and public health issues.
