UFOA-A U17: Guinea-Bissau excluded from the tournament after its MRI tests
Guinea-Bissau will ultimately not participate in the UFOA-A U17 qualifying tournament, which is currently taking place in Senegal. The organizing committee confirmed, in an official press release published on September 7, 2026, the exclusion from the selection following the results of its MRI tests, examinations carried out to verify the real age of the players.
Immediate consequence of this decision: Pool B will only have three teams instead of four. It will now be contested between Mali, Liberia and Guinea.
This is not the first time that Guinea-Bissau finds itself in this situation. The country had already been excluded for the same reason during the 2024 edition of the tournament, which was also held in Senegal.
