Kaolack: The regional football league launches its new headquarters

The Kaolack Regional Football League now has a headquarters. Located in the Sara district, the building was inaugurated this Sunday by the president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall.

Entirely financed and equipped by the FSF, the building was acquired for 28 million CFA francs. Named Bounama Diéye, after a major figure in Senegalese football and former president of the Regional League, the new headquarters offers regional football managers a modern working environment. It should help improve the functioning of the League and support the development of the discipline in the region. “It’s a feeling of pride that drives me, like all Kaolackois. This building, completed and equipped, will allow us to fully play our role in the region,” rejoiced the president of the Regional League, Thierno Kosso Diané.

He considered that this infrastructure reflects the ambition to place local football in a dynamic of professionalization. The choice of the name Bounama Diéye constitutes, according to him, an act of recognition towards a leader who contributed to the influence of regional and national football. “Under his leadership, AS Saloum experienced its moments of glory,” he recalled.

Very moved, Bounama Diéye thanked the FSF and the Regional League. “This house is a sanctuary of common passion. This is a new historic step for our region,” he declared. Abdoulaye Fall, for his part, welcomed this achievement which marks a step in the modernization of local football. He called on the actors to make good use of it, for the benefit of Kaolack football.
