Sonacos: Cheikh Guèye announces 25 billion FCFA to modernize industrial facilities
The general director of the National Oilseed Marketing Company of Senegal (Sonacos), Cheikh Guèye, announced the mobilization of financing of 25 billion CFA francs intended for the renewal and modernization of the company’s industrial tools.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Louga, during a visit by the general director to the Sonacos establishment, as part of a national tour of the company’s various industrial sites.
This envelope, planned following the last Interministerial Council, should make it possible to rehabilitate equipment, modernize installations, improve staff working conditions and strengthen Sonacos’ production capacities.
“This visit allowed us to see certain realities that push us to react quickly and with determination,” declared Cheikh Guèye, after meeting the staff and visiting the different facilities at the Louga site.
The general director notably noted the need to modernize the industrial tool and strengthen the workforce in order to improve the company’s performance.
“By visiting the Sonacos establishment in Louga, we first met all the staff in order to inquire about their working conditions,” he explained, specifying that the delegation then visited the various services and equipment, particularly those related to maintenance.
According to Cheikh Guèye, this tour allows the new management to directly observe the state of the infrastructure and industrial tools, but also to identify the constraints which affect the operation of Sonacos establishments.
He also recalled the desire of the State of Senegal to strengthen the industrialization of the country, emphasizing that the modernization of Sonacos’ industrial tools is part of this dynamic.
