National Assembly: the Committee for the Evaluation of Public Policies installed

The members of the Committee for the Evaluation of Public Policies (CEPP) were installed on Friday at the National Assembly. Its mission is to structure, conduct and monitor parliamentary evaluations of policies in Senegal.

The National Assembly held, this Friday, August 21, 2026, the first meeting of the Committee for the Evaluation of Public Policies (CEPP), devoted to its installation and the election of its office.

“This establishment marks a historic step in Senegalese parliamentary life. Enshrined in the 2016 constitutional revision, the evaluation of public policies thus becomes fully operational within the National Assembly,” indicates the National Assembly at the end of the work.

It should be noted that the CEPP’s mission is to structure, conduct and monitor parliamentary evaluations of public policies. In addition to the President of the National Assembly, the CEPP includes the presidents of parliamentary groups, the representative of those not registered, the presidents of the 14 standing committees and nine other deputies and their substitutes.

The latter are appointed in proportion to the administratively constituted parliamentary groups, taking into account the proposal of non-registered deputies.

Concerning the CEPP office, it is made up of Ousmane Sonko, who is the president and also president of the National Assembly, the first vice-president, who is the deputy Mohamed Sall, and the second vice-president, Djimo Souaré.

The first committee secretary is Béatrice Germaine Faye and the second secretary is MP Adama Diallo.
