The FSF strengthens its support for regional football August 11, 2026
The Kédougou Regional Football League closed its season this Monday, August 10, 2026, with the grand senior regional final at the Mamba Guirassy stadium. Sponsored by the president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall, the ceremony was marked by the presence of Maître Papa Sidy Lo, third vice-president of the FSF and president of the College of regional league presidents.
According to the latter, the regional finals tour is part of a desire to strengthen territorial equity and promote amateur football. In this context, the FSF granted each league a subsidy of 6 million CFA francs for the organization of its final. The envelope covers in particular the organizational costs and the rewards of the champions and vice-champions.
The Federation has also provided trophies for champions, fair play teams, as well as for the best players, scorers and goalkeepers. Tactical-technical educational kits were also given to the finalist teams in order to improve their preparation and strengthen training at the base.
The president of the regional League, Sadio Cissokho, was delighted with the mobilization and especially the discipline of the teams, believing that the level of play presented is worthy of the national championship.
However, he deplored the lack of sports infrastructure and the mobility difficulties which penalize clubs in a vast and remote region. He welcomes the construction projects for the regional stadium and departmental stadiums, while calling on local businesses to further support clubs through sponsorship.
Sadio Cissokho also invites local authorities to reserve spaces dedicated to sport in urban development operations, in order to allow young people to have access to local fields.
