Koumpentoum: DNA/New Horizon wants to unite the forces of Niani
In Koumpentoum, Dr Kaly Niang officially launched his new movement called Alliance for the Development of Niani (Adn) New Horizon on Saturday. The meeting, which was highly mobilizing despite the rain, brought together Niani executives, members of the diaspora, as well as women and young people from the town.
According to its president, the DNA/New Horizon intends to bring together the sons and daughters of Niani, from here and elsewhere, around a common objective: to contribute to the sustainable development of the locality. “The movement aims to participate in the effort to build Niani. He wants to mobilize the strengths of this locality to ensure its sustainable development,” declared Kaly Niang.
The sociologist, however, deplores the marginalization to which Niani has long been subject. “The region has always suffered ostracism, horrors, clichés and stereotypes. Niani has always been presented as a land of exclusion, even banishment,” he regrets. DNA/New Horizon is intended to be a response to this situation.
For Kaly Niang, the development of Niani cannot be the work of external actors alone. It must be based on the union of local skills and forces, beyond political divisions. “It is not a question of knowing which political party we belong to, but rather what we can contribute to the development of Niani,” he insists.
By 2035, the movement aims to make Niani a dynamic, competitive and prosperous territory. It focuses in particular on social cohesion, the development of “new lands”, the mobilization of the diaspora, entrepreneurship, productive investment, as well as the development of infrastructure, education, health, agriculture and livestock.
After this launch, the DNA/New Horizon plans to develop the Niani Horizon 2035 Strategic Development Plan (Psd), as well as the organization of forums dedicated to women and young people. For Kaly Niang, Niani lacks neither potential nor skills: “What it lacks is unity and organization. » The new movement intends to take up this challenge.
