Kiiraay: basic structures at the heart of the implementation strategy

The Kiiraay – Les Patriotes Républicains party now wants to move to a new stage of its development with the gradual establishment of its basic structures. In a message to activists, the president of the party, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, called for making territorial establishment and activist mobilization the main priorities of the political party.

After the enthusiasm generated by the creation of the party, the president of Kiiraay first recommended the installation of cells in neighborhoods and villages. This phase should also allow massification, the organization of the base and the establishment of initiative committees responsible for preparing the various movements provided for by the statutes.
These movements will particularly concern young people, women, executives, wise people, disabled people, teachers, doomu daara, artisans and transporters.

The process will continue with the placement of membership cards, before the official installation of sections, coordinations and statutory movements. The stated objective is to strengthen the presence of Kiiraay in all territories, but also within the diaspora.

Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye emphasizes that local structures must constitute “the foundation” of the party organization. They must, according to him, encourage unity around the political project, collect the concerns of the populations and contribute to the promotion of local development initiatives.

The president of Kiiraay also emphasizes the need for an open and inclusive establishment. He asks that the different structures reflect “the diversity of the driving forces” of the localities concerned.
To supervise this process, the party provides a validation mechanism.

The cells, municipal sections, coordinations and movements must therefore be approved by political commissioners designated according to rules which will be specified in a future circular.
