“Is it Christus regna?” or ‘’saturnia regna?” simply mean ‘’reign of Christ’’ or ‘’reign of satan.’’

And this arises from UPND president, Hakainde Hichilema’s rejection of the declared Christians’ National Day of Prayer and Reconciliation.

And the answer is found in the archives since it has been said that ‘’you can run, but you cannot hide.’’HH SATANIST, INSISTS BISHOP’’ was the headline in the Times of Zambia of Thursday, January 8, 2015 No. 17,064 ‘’Confirmed member in the register of Freemasons of Zambia.’’

And the newspaper account went on: ‘’Former Orthodox Church Bishop Edward Chomba has maintained that United Party for National development (UPND), president Hakainde Hichilema is a Freemason and Satanist whose membership is confirmed by the list and register of Freemasons of Zambia; “Bishop Chomba has told Lusaka High Court Judge Mwila Chitabo that his allegations at Patriotic Front (PF) political rally in Kabwe that Mr. Hichilema was a Freemason were true because the opposition leader was a member of the Grand Lodges of Zambia and worshipped at the lodge on Cha Cha Cha Road in Lusaka. The clergyman said Mr. Hichilema joined the cult in April 1999 and was initiated from the Eagle Lodge number 7232 EC, which is the Grand Lodge of Zambia, and has been a congregant of the Masons Temple located on Cha Cha Cha Road in Lusaka.

“Bishop Chomba said there was nothing wrong with him stating that Mr. Hichilema was a Freemason because it was proven that Freemasons praised and worshipped Lucifer and Satan, and it was a secret cult or society. He said the party symbol for the UPND, which is a palm with five fingers stretched forward, was one of the hand symbols for the Freemasons.’’

This can also be seen when Hakainde Hichilema refused to submit to Christ with his owl-like eyes wide open during an opening prayer at a rally on the copper-belt, while his then Vice-President, Dr. Canius Banda had humbled himself.

And his Anti-Christ spiritual beliefs can also be drawn from his language because he predicted chaos before the August 2016 general elections: ‘’There will be Armageddon after the August elections.’’ (Times of Zambia 24th April 2016) ‘’Armageddon’’ is found in the Bible’s book of Revelation 16:16.

Armageddon is WAR, a prophesied spiritual warfare between Satan and God’s people. And incidentally who is the major shareholder in the buildings named ‘’Saturna Regna’’ or ‘’reign of satan’’ in Lusaka and copper-belt?

The Word of God clearly states: ‘’All of us have sinned and fallen short of reflecting the image and glory of God’’ (Romans 3:23). But contrary to the Word of God, here is what the proud and self-righteous Hakainde Hichilema told a press briefing that his party and its membership believes in true Christianity, its principles and values and not Christianity for convenience (Daily Nation 18th October 2017).

In this HH is implying that he is the only righteous person in Zambia who holds true Christian principles and no one else. This in fact is parallel to what our Lord Jesus Christ spoke about the proud Pharisees: ‘’Jesus told His disciples about religious leaders who prided themselves in doing everything just right and despised others. ‘Two men went to the synagogue to pray. One was a Pharisee, the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up near the front and prayed to himself saying, ‘’Dear God, I want to thank You that I am not like others, these money grabbers, liars, adulterers or even this tax collector…. I fast twice each week and pay an honest tithe’’.’

“Now the tax collector stood in the back of the synagogue, not feeling worthy to even come to the front or look up to God. But he bowed his head, quietly beat on his chest and prayed, ‘’O, God, forgive me. I am a sinner who desperately needs help’.’’ (Luke 18:9- 13). This is the same pride and arrogance which is being exhibited by HH because he cannot even attend prayer meeting with sinners otherwise they contaminate his righteousness.

On the other hand, President Lungu is very much aware of his imperfect natural life since the Word of God states that all human beings are sinners and so he decided to call for Day of Prayer and Reconciliation so that the nation humbles itself before God and repent, just as we read in the Bible’s book of Jonah, how the condemned city of Nineveh was saved from God’s punishment when the citizens humbled themselves before the Lord: ‘’The people of Nineveh believed what God said. So they declared a fast and everyone who heard about it, from the least to the greatest, put on sackcloth and repented of their sin. When Jonah’s message reached the king, he got up from the throne, took off his royal robes, put on sackcloth and also repented of his sins.’’ (Jonah 3:5-6).

The pagan king of Nineveh believed the Word from Jonah who was a Jew and the people of Nineveh went before the presence of God as they were, ‘’total and condemned sinners.’’ But listen to a misguided pastor and perhaps Hichilema’s chaplain: ‘’

The Bible in 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’

There has to be genuine contrition before our leaders can start asking God to heal our land. There has to be a turning point from evil ways. This is why those saying the national day of prayer is a sham are on firm ground.

This is why we have fuel hikes coinciding with the ‘holy day.’ We need to think twice as a nation. If we are to obtain blessings and favour from the Lord, we have to do the right thing.’’(signed Pastor J.M, Lusaka)(The Mast 20th October 2017) Anyway, birds of the same feather flock together.

Indeed, we have to admit that naturally, prayer seems not to be practical, it is absurd and indeed prayer is stupid from the ordinary common-sense point of view and that is why it is always said a child gets prayer answered while a wise man does not.

When the Assyrian army attacked Jerusalem, an army general wanted to know what made the Israel king Hezekiah so confident and demanded, ‘’Do you think that words can take the place of military skill and might.’’ (2 kings 18: 20). The king and the people humbled themselves before the Lord. ’’That night an angel of the Lord went to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 soldiers.

At dawn the next day, there they lay all dead.’’ (2 Kings 19:35). On the other hand, the devil knows the power of prayer and that is why he must make sure that his adherents do not go where such prayer warriors are, as we witnessed on 18th October 2017.

However, we have to admit that it is almost humanly impossible to achieve reconciliation if we can carefully look at the psychological traumas which have had a tremendous toll on Hakainde Hichilema’s life. He has five times lamentably failed to win the presidential elections. And this record is terribly humiliating upon his family and himself.

However, he had a very big hope of scooping the presidency last year because of the anticipated votes from northern Zambia since Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba had assured him that he would deliver Muchinga, Northern and Luapula provinces to UPND.

But unfortunately GBM failed to deliver even a single councilor in these provinces. We have also to consider the financial obligations that he incurs since he has personally been funding the running of the party machinery including the militia.

Then how could he explain to the financial funders whom he assured of victory and who might have poured a lot of money into the campaign.

And besides there was a lot of anticipated hope from UPND members if one looked at the multitudes that used to attend their rallies especially in Kanyama and Chawama. And the only way for HH to try at least to save his battered face from the humiliating shame was to find a scapegoat, i.e., not to accept the election results.

You can see that in this predicament there is simply no viable way to achieve reconciliation in a human and natural way. And deducing from the above, and definitely it must true in anybody’s natural human life that Hichilema has every right to be bitter and envious of Edgar Lungu.

And as the Commonwealth envoy, Professor Ibrahim Gambari noted on the reconciliation process, ‘’it would be long and sometimes bumpy and distractive.’’

We have a parallel story in the Bible and it is from that ‘’reconciliation’’ account where we can learn that a human impossible situation like ours can only be solved supernaturally by the Living God.

This is a story in the Book of Genesis where Esau sold his birthright to his younger brother, Jacob. Today,Christians worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, instead of ESAU. In the same way, the Republican President today, is Edgar Lungu and not Hakainde Hichilema.

The writer to the Hebrews expressed Esau’s bitterness when he sought the inheritance with teas. (Hebrews 12:17).

And many years later, when God told Jacob to return back home, he was very fearful that his brother Esau might kill him and his family as revenge. And in human endeavor, Jacob arranged his reconciliation strategy. ‘’Jacob grouped together two hundred female goats with twenty male goats, then two hundred female sheep with twenty rams…… with these presents I will buy his favour, so when I meet him, he’ll forgive me and accept me again as his brother.’’ (Genesis 32: 14, 20b).

However, Jacob knew that all solutions to problems lay in the hands of God: ‘’However, before nightfall, he sent his two wives, his two servant wives and all his children across the Jabbock River. Then he sent everything he owned across the river, but he stayed on this side to spend the night alone with God.’’ (Genesis 32: 22).

It was only God’s ‘’supernatural spark’’ that healed Esau’s long standing bitterness against his brother who had cheated him of his blessings: ‘’When Esau saw his brother, he ran to meet him and kissed him and soon they were both crying.’’ (Genesis 33:4). Human reconciliation had failed: ‘’Then Esau said to Jacob, ‘Now what about all the herds of animals, what does that mean?’ Jacob answered, ‘’Those are my presents to you because I need your mercy and forgiveness for what I did to you.’ Esau said, ‘I have enough, my brother. Keep what is ours’.’’ (Genesis 33:8,9).

And it is only a ‘’supernatural spark’’ as was in the above cited case of Biblical Esau that can disarm Hichilema’s psychological time-bomb. And therefore, we as Christians must continue to pray and cling to the divine hope that reconciliation between Republican President Edgar Lungu and UPND president Hakainde Hichilema will eventually be attained only through divine intervention.
