Women of Moricounda benefit from a donation of equipment and plants August 23, 2026
The Green Sédhiou association continues its initiatives in favor of preserving the environment. On Saturday August 22, 2026, she offered cleaning equipment, plants and improved stoves to the women of Moricounda.
SÉDHIOU- The issue of the environment is a topical issue, to work to restore the ecosystem we must necessarily help communities to adopt good practices, reacted Mactar Ndiaye, deputy to the prefect of Sédhiou, Saturday August 22, on the occasion of the material donation ceremony to Kambing Kafo, a women’s group in Moricounda.
Improved stoves (Diambar stove), plants, rakes, wheelbarrow shovels, garbage dumps were made available to the Kambing Kafo. “We were carrying out “set-up” operations, but we had no equipment. The other problem is that we didn’t have a garbage dump, which is how we contacted Green Sédhiou. This material will be useful for the entire neighborhood,” underlined Fatoumata Coly, women’s representative from Kambeng Kafo.
The distribution of plants for green cover and the promotion of improved stoves contribute to preserving the environment. Mactar Ndiaye congratulated the local organization Green Sédhiou and the Kambung Kafo community association while inviting beneficiaries to make good use of cleaning equipment.
