There is no wind of change in Zambia just the wind of continuation, Civil Society Activist Laura Miti has said.
Reacting to the statement made by the UPND Leader Mr Hakainde Hichilema that the Patriotic Front was dead scared of losing that’s why they were desperate to block him to be on the ballot paper, Ms Miti said the wind of change being talked about by the UPND was nothing but the sound of fear of them losing the coming general election.
“Whether Mr Hakainde Hichilema will be on the ballot or not, fact of the matter is that there is no wind of change in Zambia. What is on the ground is the wind of continuation favouring President Lungu”
“We all thought the August 12 general elections will be a 50-50 vote between President Lungu and Mr Hakainde Hichilema but with the current on going developmental projects being witnessed under the Patriotic Front government, wind of change theliz no”
She said the country was better suited to keep President Edgar Lungu instead of gambling with people who have never been tried.
“If you have noticed of late, UPND has been losing all bye elections, and to add more salt on their wounds, they are now losing senior party officials. which book of change are they reading? You are losing not just senior members but also sitting members of parliament and you still want to believe that there is wind of change blowing, where and how? Ms Miti questioned.
