According to Larry Mweetwa his party UPND has an equipped group of people who trained in the army and all security wings in Zambia but are retired who are running an armory of the opposition party and would wrestle with the Police if their leader Hakainde Hichilema is arrested.
There have been calls for Hakainde Hichilema to be arrested for inciting riots in Kitwe after he said on Sun FM radio that ZAFFICO had been sold to the Chinese when it had not. People in Kitwe feasted on the information they were told by Hakainde Hichilema and begun to protest and subsequently riot leaving both private and public property destroyed.
But when asked by the Hot FM radio presenter Hope Chishala if at all the UPND leader had any evidence to the effect of his claims that PF had sold ZAFFICO to the Chinese,Hichilema failed to answer but continued to say he did not incite any violence.
However, it appeared Hichilema was avoiding to be cited as the one who incited the riots .
Many people have called for Hakainde Hichilema’s arrest for what they term careless talk but his social media advisor Larry Mweetwa says his party is fully armed to fight with the Police.
He has even boasted that the UPND will outdo the law enforcement because it has dangerous guns which are kept in an armory by retired military men and women somewhere hidden.
Meanwhile, a number of UPND officials have also warned that they will not allow their leader to be arrested over anything in Zambia adding that they will fight for his life.
